Well - David and I had our last official date night before the babies arrive last night. We went out for Japanese Hibachi with Shanni, JJ, Marci and Andy. We had a great time! Lots of laughs! I even had a "virgin" Pina Colada...oh did that taste good! I haven't had a frozen "drink" in almost a year!
We then came back to our place and played games - it was very low key, but we had so much fun! Who knows when we'll be up for going out again - so it was great to be able to do that with such great friends!

34 weeks
Well I've made it yet another week! YIPPEE! The insomnia is back - so my body must be preparing me for NO SLEEP once the twins arrive! Other than being exhausted, I am feeling pretty good. (just huge!)
I had a baby shower at work yesterday. Shane did such a great job putting everything together. I'll post pictures once I have them all. I got some great outfits, Allison made me a diaper cake, and I got a lot of books! I'm very thankful for what wonderful co-workers I have!
I have my stress test on Monday - so i'll post an update when that is over with.

Doctor Update
Well - I just got home from the doctor and so far - great news! First off - I didn't gain any weight from my apt. from last week - so I'm still at 24lbs! WOO HOO! He then measured my belly - He had to laugh because as he was doing that a foot came protruding out of my stomach! I am currently measuring at 41 weeks - which is bigger than a full term singleton. He said that all looks great and both babies are still head down.
He had to do a culture today just incase I deliver before my next apt. next week. He said if we didnt' have the results of the culture and I was to deliver naturally...his exact words were...That would suck (in his very proficient Chinese lingo!) David and I were cracking up!
I still have little swelling in my ankles and he's still amazed that I'm working. He did say I could go at any time and to be ready if I feel a gush of water! hahaha
I have my next Doc apt. next Monday morning - and they will have me hooked up to monitors doing a stress test on the babies. So until next week...(or until something else exciting happens)...

33 weeks
regarding leave. I'm waiting to hear back on my proposals - but hopefully all goes as planned!
I did find out...thanks to mom...that I am entitled to 8 weeks per baby for maternity leave. Apparently it is a Mass state law that grants me 16 weeks. I'm also working out that i will be getting 20 paid days from the college due to my union as well. They usually only give 10, but hey...I'm giving birth twice!
Work is keeping me very busy - but it's making the time fly by! I only have about 3.5 weeks left until I hit the 37 week mark! YIPPEE!!!! I'm hoping David will put in the carseats this weekend - just to have those done.
We also picked up the glider rocker last Saturday - It looks so good and makes the baby room complete!
I have my next doctors appointment on Monday - so we'll see how that goes. Other than that, just plugging away. I'm looking forward to the weekend!

32 Weeks
Well - so far everything is going well. I had a few doctors appointments last week (ultrasound, endocrinologist, meet the pediatrician, and my regular doc). David and I really like the pediatrician. She is new to the practice and building up her clientele. She is VERY down to earth. Dr. Pang said everything looked great this week. I gained 4lbs - so I'm up to a total of 24lbs so far. I did have a little swelling in my legs - but not bad at all. He just told me to relax and take it easy. I am now to the point where I have to see him every week now.
We're currently having another snow storm...what else is new? But that's all on the prego front.

Ultrasound Update
Well I had my 31 week ultrasound today - I'm 31 weeks and 4 days along. Both babies are growing rapidly and we didn't really get any "good" pictures this time. The u/s tech said that currently, the babies are measuring at 32 weeks and 4 days - so they are still 1 week ahead of schedule.
Baby Girl - is 3lbs 14oz right now. She is completely head down and ready for launch mode! According to the ultrasound she does have a little bit of hair. All of her organs look great and she was constantly kicking her brother today! Baby Boy - is 4lbs 8oz right now. He is what they call "vortex" position. He isn't completely head down, he is more curved but his legs are towards my side. He also has a little bit of hair (from what we can see) and everything looks great!
The U/S tech said that if I do go "naturally" both babies are in a great position. Baby A (which is baby girl) would come first and then "hopefully" baby boy will follow since he is in a pretty good position.
That's the news for today - have a doc apt. with the Endocrinologist tomorrow, Meeting the pediatrician on Thursday and my regular check up on Friday. Busy week with Doctors appointments and work!

It's the FINAL Countdown...
Well - there are only 9 weeks left of this pregnancy - where did the time go??? I have 63 days left until March 12th (which is my full term pregnancy) and only 43 days left until I hit the 37 week mark (which is what I'm hoping to get to). 37 weeks is when most twins are born and their lungs should be fully formed by that point. We find out on Monday how big they really are at this point and we are getting so anxious to have our babies here! We also can't wait to tell you their names...who would have thought I could keep a secret! I guess I am capable!
This pregnancy has flown by - maybe because my job keeps me extremely busy and keeps my mind off of things - but I am just so excited that this experience is almost over! The sickness, the stuffy nose, not being able to walk up a flight of stairs, aches and pains in my legs, sleepless nights (well that wont' end for quite a while), and I just cant' wait to get my body back. It has been quite an overwhelming experience thus far - and I haven't even gone through labor and delivery yet...OH GOD! That will be interesting - but having waited so long for this experience I'll just be happy to get through it! Don't get me wrong - being pregnant has had it's pluses too - everyone wants to wait on me hand and foot - and that's been wonderful!
I know our life is going to be crazy once the babies come - but incase I forget - I just want to thank each and every one of you for bearing with me the past 8 months of this pregnancy ... and the year before that with everything else we went through. This is truly a miracle and David and I are so blessed and honored to have such great family and friends to share this journey with. We love you all!

Cravings
Well - what every keeps asking me is if I have had any strange cravings...you know: pickles and ice cream, chocolate and bbq sauce, I don't know- those are just a few gross things I have heard! As for cravings - all I have been craving is citrus! These kids will be so pumped with vitamin C it won’t' be funny! I should have bought stock in Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice and Lemonade. I also had a kick of pineapple, watermelon and green grapes! At least for the most part (besides the sugar in juice) it is pretty healthy - and I'm not craving whoppers from Burger King! - Maybe that has helped keep the weight down. With twins you typically gain 45-55lbs - depending on your size - and thankfully - I've only gained 20lbs so far! It is primarily all belly (even though David may argue my butt got a little bigger!) hahaha I’m still wearing the first pair of maternity pants my mom bought me back in August and (minus the belly) they are still big!

30 weeks
Well - we've made it another week! YIPPEE!!! I had a doctors apt this a.m. - and Dr. Pang said everything looks great. He still can't believe I have no fluid in my hands or feet - and I didn't gain any weight from two weeks ago (I guess not eating any sweets over the holidays helped!)
We have a busy few weeks with Doc apts. - Nutritionist next week, Ultrasound on the 12th, meet the pediatrician on the 15th and my two week check up on the 16th. YIKES! Dr. Pang looked at my "sugar log" for my blood work and said that everything looks great! He told me to go to the apt. on Tuesday - but after that I am free to eat what I want because my blood is perfectly fine...YIPPEE!!! He said with the twins, they will be smaller than a singleton baby anyway - so with my levels the way they are it won’t' hurt them. He also told me not to prick my finger 4x a day either - I was very pleased to hear him say that!!!
The other good news from my apt. today is that both babies are currently head down. When he was trying to find the heartbeat he felt around and discovered that...now let's hope they stay that way for a few more weeks! I'm thinking they may because they are probably too big to be doing circus acts in my belly.
