Wednesday Funday: Boston Children's Museum

This weeks adventure was to the Boston Children's Museum! I brought Lynn with me and Lisa brought her cousin Jamie! It gives us a little break because the younger girls are chasing after the kids!

They all had fun - played with bubbles, the kids were on TV and Matthew, Ari and Kiera also decided to climb up the large climbing structure! Of course we made Lynn and Jamie climb with them...they are lucky they didn't get stuck!!!

Update on School...

I just talked to Joyce and the kids did GREAT today! They went potty at school, Ari ate all her lunch and Matthew had a 2nd helping at lunch! Their teachers were so impressed at how well they did on their first day! Both kids are fast asleep in their beds now!

Wednesday Funday: Auntie Mimi came to visit!

Yesterday's plans with Lisa changed when Auntie Mimi called to tell me she wanted to come for a visit! She came to our house yesterday - we played outside with the kids for a while, and then decided to take the kids out in public...oye vei...what were we in for!

We had to run to BJ's so I could get some diapers for the kids! Auntie had to push the carriage and they wouldn't let Mommy any where near them!

After BJ's we thought we'd take the kids to Friendly's for lunch - since Wednesday is 1.99 kids day! OMG that was disastrous! Matthew was so off the walls - he climbed up the booth, the walls, crawled on the floors, spilled food on the floor, dumped salt and pepper on the table...and I could go on and on and on! He was the DEVIL! Once we were FINALLY done with lunch, we bolted out of there before we got kicked out!

We headed home and the kids slept from 145 - 415! I guess he was TIRED!

School Starts!

The kids have "officially" started school! Arianna woke up this morning when I went into her room and said: "Mommy, is today the day I start school" "Why yes Ari...it is!"

David brought them to school this morning, they ran right into their class and never looked back to say goodbye! I guess that's a good sign...right?

I'm anxious to hear how their morning went!

Our Vacation: Hershey Park

We're Baaaaaack! We had a great 5 days away in Hershey, PA - one of Mommy's all time vacation spots!

We left in the morning of July 6th. It took about 7 hours to get to Hershey, PA - not bad for the first long road trip with the kids! We stopped once for lunch in Connecticut, and once for gas (but the kids didn't get out of the car)! We arrived at the campground around 5pm. We set up camp and because it was 90+ with humidity we decided to take a dip in the pool. After the dip, we came back, cooked up some hot dogs and then put the kids to bed because we knew it would be a long few days! The first night the kids didn't want to go to sleep! It took a while, but we had them up on the top bunk and finally around 930 they fell asleep! Ari ended up crawling in bed with Lynn half way through the night! They slept until about 6!

On Thursday a.m. we all woke up, ate pop-tarts for breakfast, showered and headed off to Hershey Park! We did every kiddie ride in the place! At first Arianna was scared and didn't like the rides, but after the first 2 she became a ride fanatic! They did ride after ride after ride! After a few hours (and LOTS of heat) we decided it was time to have lunch. After lunch we took the kids over to the water park. Lynn and David took the kids in, and I watched over the bags. We were all about to head over to the big wave pool when they closed down the water park due to a thunderstorm rolling in! We headed over to Zoo America - which is a zoo in Hershey, PA, but with the admission to the park you can go into the zoo for free. You cross a bridge from the park into the zoo. We walked around that for about an hour, then David then headed back to the campground because the campers windows were open...Lynn and I rode out the rain (which it only sprinkled!) We got the kids ice cream, watched the "N-Disguise" group perform and then the rides started opening back up again. We went on the Tram (which is a train that goes over the entire park) and we took the kids on a few more rides. David made it back to us after about an hour. We did MORE rides...then decided to call it a day (at 9pm!!!) The kids were so tired at that point that Ari fell asleep in the carriage, and Matthew was crying because he wanted to touch Ari! LOL The kids passed out as soon as we got home!

Friday we took our time getting up! The kids slept in until about 7 and we got up, had pancakes (chocolate chip), showered, and headed to Amish Country! I've always wanted to go there, so we figured we'd head out there this time. It was only 40 minutes from the campground to get to Intercourse, PA. The kids (and Lynn) fell asleep as soon as we got in the car - they were still tired from the day before! We made it all the way into Intercourse and David found a sign for "free wine tasting"! Well since everyone else was sleeping...why not!?! We had some wine, and walked out with 6 bottles! Got back to the car and they were just waking up...shhhhhh don't tell! After the kids woke up, we saw some Amish people riding their buggies down the street! The kids were so excited to see the horses! We found a cute little shopping village, so we parked the car and walked around. We booked a buggy ride and while we waited for the ride, we found the BEST pretzel place! They made the pretzels while you wait and OMG they were amazing! We then headed back for our Buggy ride. We went all through the farms of the Amish, learned a lot of interesting facts...like...did you know how to tell the difference between the Amish and an "English" house? (they call us the English) - the Amish have dark green pull shades in their house - where others may have curtains or white pull shades! After our buggy ride, we went to the "Good n Plenty" - a traditional family style restaurant! The food was unbelievable! After that we headed back to the campground. It was still early, so we got the kids changed and headed back to Hershey Park. This time we only went into Chocolate world. You can take the FREE ride that is inside and the kids LOVE it! Lynn and I took them 4 times while David was in the gift shop! We also took them into the 3D movie on how Hershey became Hershey...Ari loved it...Matthew...not so much!

On Saturday - we let Lynn sleep in! Typical Teenager - needs TONS of sleep! The kids slept in until 8, and we got up, David took them to the park and I made breakfast. We then got dressed and spent 5 hours at the pool! They had a GREAT kiddie pool and the kids could sit and play in it all day! After our long pool day, we got showered and we headed to Indian Echo Caves. This cave is about 100 feet down under ground. The kids loved it (but it was hard to keep them quiet!) After the caves we went back to the campground. Mommy and Lynn cooked dinner. Ari was so tired at this point, she went to bed w/out dinner and slept until 730 this a.m. Matthew was able to stay up since he had a 15 minute power nap when we first got to the cave! Matthew got to roast marshmallows with Daddy.

Overall it was a GREAT vacation! Mom and Dad are exhausted and the thought of going to work tomorrow stinks!!!

Happy 4th of July

Today we took the kids to the annual parade in Fitchburg! Before we left - I was able to get a picture of the kids with their hats they made at the Museum on Wednesday!

We met up with Auntie Marci and KK. The kids were so excited! They saw lots of fire trucks, horses, and drums! After the parade, we headed home for lunch and for the kids to take a nap. Mommy went outside to relax and sit in the sun since it was very warm outside!

Val and Nicole were also laying out across the street so I went over to hang out. We decided to have a BBQ...so off to the store to buy the goodies for our impromptu BBQ! The kids had such a fun day! We bought them a slip and slide...but I don't know who had more fun - them or the big kids!

It was another great weekend with our neighborhood!
