We weathered the storm...AGAIN!

Well it seems like it was only yesterday I was writing about a big storm on Halloween...yet it was last year! We ended up getting hit with Hurricane Sandy (which turned out not to be as bad as everyone thought) - but poor NYC and New Jersey got hit pretty hard! There are some towns around Massachusetts that did get a lot of flooding, trees down, no power, etc. (thoughts to my Fall River Fam!) - but we were lucky this time around! Both David and I had the day off from work yesterday - WOO HOO!

Besides the storm, we had a fun weekend! I did have to work an Open House on Saturday - but David's parents ended up wanting to have the kids over night, so David and I headed out to a Halloween party! We had a lot of fun - but I was exhausted...so we were home by 10pm! There were great costumes...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Garden Gnome, Mario Brothers, an Old couple, and David and I were sailors! We had a great time!

On Sunday, my work had it's annual Halloween party for kids, so we went to pick up the kids and got them in their costumes! I have to say...our two were the hit of the party and had the BEST costumes...Mommy even went as Minnie Mouse!

So far Halloween hasn't been postponed for our area - so looking forward to going Trick or Treating with the kids tomorrow night! Hopefully the rain stops and we can get a lot of candy!

Time for some updates

Wow...it's been a few months since my last update on the kids...as you can see, my life is crazy busy right now! In the last 2 weeks I've worked about 60-70 hours each week and I've been averaging about 600+ miles on the car! This is my last full week of fall travel - so work life will start to unwind a bit! It was sad - on Saturday I had an Open House at the college and was getting ready to leave (mind you it was 6:15a.m.) - Arianna woke up and started crying. I said to her "Honey what's wrong?" - she said "Mommy you need to stay home - you've been working too much and I miss you!" Talk about a big knife in your heart!

The kids are doing really well! Arianna is 43lbs and about 2 inches taller than Matthew - and Matthew is 34lbs! They are doing MUCH better in school! We've put Matthew on calming vitamins to help with his energy and he's a different child! His teacher told me yesterday that a month ago, she wanted to tape him to a wall for him to relax for 5 minutes - and as of yesterday, he's able to redirect himself, focus and not have emotional breakdowns! He's a different child at home too! He is able to play with his toys, not throw temper tantrums, and he's doing MUCH better with his listening! It makes Mommy and Daddy really happy!

Arianna is at the age where she loves to dance and make up songs. She even loves to sing along to the radio now! Every morning she has to pick out her own clothes - and she even helps pick out mine! I call her my little fashionista! We are gearing up for Halloween - and I can't wait for everyone to see their costumes! I have only told a few people what they are being - because I wanted it to be a big surprise! I may even get their pictures taken - our photographer suggested we get it done!

Here are a few pictures of the kids from this weekend! We celebrated Dominic's 12th birthday on Sunday!
