Cute Pics

David and I took the kids to Wachusett Reservoir to get some fresh air and to walk around yesterday. The area made for a great background for a few photo ops! Enjoy

Matthew's Check up

Well since all of the attention lately has been focused on Arianna's health...let's throw Matthew into the mix now too! Matthew had his 4 year check up this a.m. - he's 37lbs and 3ft 5 in tall. Matthew, unfortunately, did not pass his hearing test though! He now needs to see an Ortolaryncologist (not sure if I spelled that right) - but basically an ear doctor who specializes with hearing. Matthew will be having a full blown hearing test next month.

Matthew also has a calcium cyst on his nose - so he'll also be seeing the Dermatologist to have that cyst removed!

Matthew is still our hyperactive little boy! We're planning on getting him involved in soccer this fall, so that he can continue to run and be active outside! He learned how to ride his new bike and he's already zooming around the neighborhood!

Overall, besides both of their minor health issues, David and I wouldn't trade them for the world! Even though they fight most of the time, they still have a special place in their heart for each other. Last night, Matthew thought he was being sneaky...he turned his monitor off in his room so I couldn't hear him downstairs, and when David went to bed, this is what he found:

We may finally have answers

Wow...where has the time gone? It seems like the kids 4th birthday was last week, but it's already May! The spring has finally hit, and the weather has been amazing!

Arianna had her 4 year check up last week, which also included 4 shots (poor mommy had to hold her down!). While there, she was weighed and measured...She's 43lbs and 3 feet 6inches...So tall! She's still having a lot of asthma and allergy issues, so she was put on 2 more inhalers. Two days later we were back at the doctor for a double ear infection - so on to more antibiotics and steroids!

I just wish she would get a break! I was starting to hear more friends tell me I should look into Chiropractic Care as well as Accupuncture, so what better way to poll friends than to ask around through Facebook! Well...turns out one of my College friends is a Chiropractor (which I did know...but never thought to ask him these questions), and quite a few of my friends go to him. He told me to give him a call last night and so I did! He said that many times there could be an issue with the spinal cord and nerves that are causing a lot of these issues, so he wanted to see Ari right away!

I brought her in for 8:00 this a.m. for a check up and to talk about her issues. Dr. Den (as he's called...his name is Dennis) was so good with her, and Ari warmed up right away! He brought in his check up bear so she could see the bears back and "pop" his spine into place. She thought that was pretty funny! Dr. Den performed a Nerve Flow test on Arianna, which is this machine that is hooked into a computer - he wheels it slowly up the spine and it reads how the nerves are flowing in the body. Once it was complete, the results immediately show up on the computer. Me, not knowing what I'm looking at, he asks in a puzzled way...Has she ever had head trauma or neck trauma? I said besides being cramped in my stomach with Matthew, the only other trauma that I know of is when she fell and smashed her chin (and needed stitches). I'm assuming her neck snapped back since she fell so hard! So then he describes this computer image I'm looking at, which is Arianna's spine and it has all of the spine numbers next to it...he said that if you have no issues, there will be no markings next to the spine...so we start at the bottom and work our way up to the top and I start to see some color. Blue is a little damage, then Green, then red, and finally black (which you really don't want to see). Arianna had 1 blue line, 1 red line and 3 black lines all in her neck! Dr. Den then had Ari sit on a chair and he was feeling around in her neck, asking if different areas hurt and you could tell on her face that where he was pushing hurt BAD! The poor child...This afternoon I had a chance to look at a spinal cord picture and it tells you which area of the spinal cord effects different parts of the body, and all 4 of her "black spots" is triggered in with breathing! Could it be???!!!! David and I are going back on Monday for a full Doctor Report - we'll be there for 1.5 hours, hear about Chiropractic Treatment and Dr. Den will go over the full plan for Arianna. I'm telling you...if this man has figured out her sickness, I will owe him my life!!!! He even said to me when we were chatting on the phone, "Tara, I'm a parent too, and I know how tough it can be when no one understands what you are going through, and how all you want is what is best for your child...and you feel so helpless when you can't help them! I'm telling you right now, I will do everything I can to help your baby!" - OMG I wanted to jump through the phone and hug him!

Here's hoping Chiropractic care will work for Ari - This has been a LONG 2 years of going to doctor upon doctor, and taking medicine upon medicine...Say some prayers!!!
