TRICK or TREAT

Well this weekend ended up being more tricks than treats! Friday night started like any other weekend - except for the fact we had a Halloween Party to go to! Mommy screwed up the dates (thought it was Saturday) so in the end we didn't have a babysitter. Luckily our friends said we could bring the kids so that's what we did! Our Little Witch and Our Little Frankenstein came along with Mr. & Mrs. Scarecrow!

Saturday morning I got up and went to work. We had our 2nd Open House and we were expecting about 900 people on campus. We were expected to have a "Nor-Easter" blow in on Saturday night - so our numbers were around 700 instead! We had everyone off campus - I got in my car - and then it started...SNOW on October 29th! The snow went on all night and at one point I got all upset because the sound of the trees breaking brought me back to the Ice Storm of 2008!

We woke up in the morning to about 15 inches of HEAVY WET SNOW! What an awful trick! We lost power at 11pm and the damage from all the downed trees and power lines was awful! Here are some photos from our house and neighborhood!

This was one awful trick...Luckily our treat was the power came on at 4pm last night! Trick or Treating for the kids has been moved to Thursday night - so hopefully everyone has power restored by then!

Columbus Day Weekend Get-A-Way...White Mountains, NH

This weekend we went away with Marci, Andy and Kaeli (KK). We had such a blast!!! We rented a 2 family house in North Conway, which worked out great because we were able to cook breakfast and dinner - and the kids were able to keep each other entertained when we were there!

We drove up on Saturday a.m. and got to our destination around 11:30 a.m. We unpacked, ate a quick lunch at home and then headed to Story Land. All the kids (including the adult ones...) had such a blast! I hadn't been since I was little - so some things I remember by looking at photos! We got to go on almost every ride - saw every character - and even had an ice cream treat! We left when the park closed - which was 5pm and we were only 6 miles from home - well those 6 miles took us an hour to get to! We decided to order Pizza - and we lucked out because the pizza restaurant was right next door!

On Sunday a.m. we woke up and I made breakfast! We had pancakes and bacon and then got ready to head out. Today's adventure would take us to Santa's Village! It was about an hours drive from where we were staying, so we wanted to get an early start. We got there and I immediately remembered the flume ride that you can see from the road! That was also the first ride we all went on! The 3 kids, and Marci, Andy and Myself all SQUISHED in one log...I have the bruises on my legs to prove it! We went on a lot of rides and at the end of our trip we got in line to see Santa...well...the kids didn't want to wait anymore - so we went to Santa's Village and missed out on Santa...well...sort of! Come to find out - Santa was helping park the cars in the parking lot - but he was in regular clothes! LOL

From there we headed home - we stopped at a covered bridge and took some photos. We then headed back home - didn't hit much traffic and we lucked out because dinner was ready when we got there! I stuck a pork roast in the crock pot and we had pulled pork sandwiches!

We woke up today and Andy fixed us breakfast - we packed up all our stuff and hit the road. We stopped at the train station in North Conway and then we hit a couple of the outlet stores. The kids got their Halloween costumes...here's a sneak peek!

We hit a lot of traffic coming home today, so we took back roads and made a few stops along the way!

Overall we had a GREAT time and can't wait to go back!!!
