I couldn't think of a better title...but this is just a quick update - the kids have been doing GREAT in their new beds! They haven't got out once! They think they are big shots because in the morning they can get out of bed on their own and at night / nap times they can get in their bed on their own.
They have been so funny lately! Matthew has been pretty defiant...he'll look right at you and tell you NO if he doesn't want to listen or do something, so...Daddy has given him a few bare butt spankings - so now he knows if Mommy or Daddy get up after telling him "NO" he sits on the floor so we can't reach his bum!!
Ari is talking up a storm. She comes out with the funniest things too! The other day I came home from work and she looked at me and said Mommy, I love your shoes - they are so pretty! Where does a 2 year old come up with this stuff? She loves to sing and dance! In the car I play their CD with kids music and she sings along to almost every song! The other day she told Matthew he was supposed to sing with her, so they both were singing - It was a hoot!

New Bikes, New Foods...and New beds!
Nana and Papa bought Arianna and Matthew new bikes for their birthday! The weather was really warm last weekend and they were able to try them out! They absolutely LOVE them!
The kids have never really had an issue with food, however their new phrase is "I don't want it"! If they don't want it while we are eating - we save it for them to have for lunch or dinner the next day and they will usually eat it. Sometimes they are so full off of "snacking" that they don't want dinner. I was home with Arianna today because she's been really sick all weekend. I have seen enough puke to last me a lifetime! She has a really bad cough and keeps choking herself! Today - Matthew went to Joyce and Mike's house so he get's to spend some 1 on 1 time with them - and Ari stayed home with me. I just asked her Ari...do you want some chicken noodle soup? and she said no...the other soup! Well I had made both Chicken Noodle soup and Black Bean soup this weekend and she LOVES black bean soup!
Finally - when the kids turned 2 their gift from David and I were 'Big Girl' and 'Big Boy' beds! We ordered them and they came in this weekend. We ended up getting a 3 in 1 "crib" for them - so right now we didn't have to buy a new mattress or sheet set - we were able to use the same things we have now. David bought a "bed" protector for the kids so they don't roll out and hit their heads. Ari has a princess one and Matthew has one from the movie Cars. I just put Ari up to sleep and she was out within 5 minutes - so far so good with the new beds!

2 year check up, 2 year photos, and a story for the record books!
Arianna and Matthew had their 2 year check up last week. Arianna weighs in at 29.8 lbs and Matthew is only 26.7 - we knew Ari was heavier than Matthew! Both are in the 90th percentile for height, however, Matthew is only in the 25th for weight! We're trying to fatten that boy up! They both had to get blood work done again to test their Iron levels, and unfortunately Matthew is anemic again - so he has to take Iron drops. The Doctor couldn't beleive how much they were talking and how big they were! Ari, unfortunately, had a meltdown the second Dr. Feudo walked into the room!
We took the kids to get their 2 year photos done on Saturday. I made a whim appointment at Sears and got the kids all psyched up for it. I kept telling them they needed to say CHEESE when she was ready to take their photo. Matthew said CHEESE the entire time (as you can tell from the photos) - and Ari lasted for the first picture! She wanted nothing to do with having her photos done! We found an ugly set of flowers and she was happy to hold those - but other than that we only got a couple of cute photos of them...oh well!
On Sunday, David and I decided to take the kids to church. Grammie had stayed over the night before, so we figured we'd have an extra hand...boy were we wrong! We kept telling the kids they had to be quiet - but they liked hearing their echos in church! I gave Ari a little purse with 2 quarters in it...one for her and 1 for Matthew when it came time for the collection. They were so excited to put their quarters in the basket. After communion another collection came around - so Matthew was sitting on my lap and I had my purse in front of him. I reached in to get 2 more quarters. I gave Matthew one and Ari was sitting on the other side of my mom - so I was reaching over to give her a quarter when I heard Matthew say "Give more Mommy" - then Grammie burst into laughter! I said what's wrong...and Grammie said Matthew wanted to give more! I look down and Matthew took tampons out of my purse and put them into the collection basket! OMG how embarrassing! I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of mass...oh the things kids do to embarrass their parents!

Arianna & Matthew's 2nd birthday party
On Saturday, March 5th we had Ari & Matthew's 2nd birthday party at our house! Packing 35 people in was an adventure - but we did it! Everyone had a blast - food was great and my homemade frosting was a HUGE hit! All of our friends and family were so generous with all of their gifts, and I will say...our kids will be styling this spring & summer with all the great clothes they got!
Elmo & Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street was the theme of this year's party. Mommy made Matthew an Elmo Cake and I made Ari - pink and purple cupcakes for Abby Cadabby! I also made the favors for the party - which I forgot to give them to almost everyone who came...so now I have 35 candy bars...oh well...I'll bring them to work! Ari was nervous when everyone started singing to her, but mommy helped her blow out her candles! Matthew on the other hand...as you can tell from the photos, was very nervous with the fire coming towards his tray! He was like...why is this fire so close to me! It was pretty funny!
On Sunday we surprised Grampa and stopped by his Open house for his train club. In 10 years we've never been, so we figured since he missed out on coming to the party yesterday - we'd bring the party to him! The kids were fascinated by his trains! Especially the Thomas train!
Here are some photos!
