4 week update

Hard to believe that on Tuesday Matthew & Arianna turned 4 weeks old! Time sure is flying and before I know it - I'll be back to work - and the babies will be walking, talking, etc. I just wish time would stand still for a few minutes so I can enjoy this time.

This has been my first "official" week on my own. David ended up getting a sinus infection and was home last week - and at the end of the week Joyce ended up staying with me to help while David was sick.

So far - this has been a fun week. Monday I got into a routine of getting up, making bottles, showering, feeding the kids and doing whatever else needed to be done...well I did get in watching Ellen, Bonnie Hunt, and about 6 hours of the food network. I'll be a professional chef by the time this maternity leave is over! On Tuesday I decided I needed to get out of the house! I packed up the kids and headed up to FSC for a full visit. Last time we were only there for a short while - this time we visited all offices - the weather was 60 degrees and it was my first outing with the twins by myself...I survived! On Wednesday, I took the kids (along with Marci's husband Andy and their daughter Kaeli) to see the Easter Bunny. That was such a hoot! Everyone thought Andy and I were married and we had all these kids (11 month old & twins!) I think I would have to commit myself to the funny farm if that were the case!!! Matthew and Arianna slept through their first visit to the Easter Bunny - let's hope next year they do the same thing! LOL Today I had a low key day and stayed in - I did laundry, washed bottles, played with the kids on their play mat! The funniest part of my day was getting peed on by Matthew! I had to change my clothes - he got me good! Tomorrow the kids have their 1 month check up with the Pediatrician...I can't wait to see how much they weigh now.

They had a rough week last week as far as sleeping / eating. I think they were going through a growth spurt - but so far this week (knock on wood) they both have been pretty good! Arianna actually slept for 6 hours straight Tuesday night...too bad it was from 8pm - 2am! I'm hoping this sleeping pattern sticks - David and I were exhausted last week!

They are each developing their own personalities - and it's pretty funny it's how they acted in utero too. Arianna (during all ultrasounds) was so active and the attention getter - and Matthew was very laid back. Arianna is definitley turning into Mama's girl already...I'm in trouble! Sometimes I can be the only one to console her when she's crying - and when she is hungry, tired, etc. she has this high pitch screeeeeeeech! She loves the attention because when I pick her up she'll do a whimper and just look at me and smile...as if to say...GOTCHA! Matthew on the other hand is so laid back. The only time he gets upset is if he is really hungry or has poop in his diaper. Otherwise he let's his sister get the attention and he just sits there and is very calm.
