We had our friends son's chritening yesterday (Brady & Ryan) and oh boy...what a day for us...
We got to the church at 1:30 – the priest came out and gave rules for about 10 minutes…(about cell phones, cameras, etc. but we’ll gladly take a collection…u know typical catholic church) LOL…well he talks so slow and drawn out that after 5 minutes of that, Arianna was restless. So they begin the ceremony and she’s squirming EVERYWHERE…so then she starts to yell cause she likes to hear her own voice and going…OOOOHHHH wicked loud. So then she tries jumping over the pew. So I got up and go to the back of the church w/her. David was sitting w/Matthew and he was starting to get restless, but he was better than she was. So then Ari got restless in the back of the church – so I kept going up and down the elevator (yes an elevator in the church) – so 45 minutes later I come back and think they are just about done – so I come to the seat…now they both are yelling. So I bring out Animal cracker and it keeps them quiet for about 5 minutes – then Ari starts chewing on the pew – then gets restless – now its time to go…THANK U GOD…(NO PUN INTENDED). So then we head to their house where 100 of their family and friends are gathered.
I get into the living room and change diapers – David is holding Matthew and goes to get in line to get us food. I went and took Matthew - then I had both kids w/bottles and they decide they didn’t want bottles – they wanted to GO GO GO. So I put them on the floor and VROOOOOM they are gone…in 2 different directions. I’m pulling on Matthew’s belt loop to drag him back and grabbing Ari’s foot to get her back. Then picked them both up and found 2 bottles of water (the little ones) I was like GREAT they can play w/these. So I give them each one – and they want what the other one has – and they go back and forth with that for 5 minutes fighting. David comes back w/food and the kids realize we have food…now they are begging like dogs at our feet wanting food. So we’re giving them bites of bread and lasagna and they are bouncing up and down…So David looks at me and said…are you ready to go? I said YES!!!
OMG – we were both in bed by 8pm last night – my biceps hurt today from carrying them that long and I’m exhausted! It wouldn’t be as bad if it was a family party where we could let them go and be kids! There were so many people I was afraid they’d get stepped on!
