Well today 2/2/11 marks my 8th snow day off from work since December 20th! I'm not complaining though! I don't have to make it up, I get paid for it, and it's one more day I get to spend home with the kids!
This storm was a little different. It started yesterday around 8:30 a.m. and continued through to 3pm dumping about 1 inch per hour! We got dismissed from work at noon and then I picked up the kids and Joyce in Ashby and arrived back to Leominster. Joyce was having surgery on her foot today, so we felt it would be best if she were only a mile from the hospital instead of getting stranded in Ashby! With this storm we ended up with a foot of snow when they only predicted 3-5 inches.
The 2nd round started around 5am and we were supposed to get another 12-15 inches of snow, however it turned out that the storm ended pretty fast, but then quickly turned to sleet and ice. We ended up getting another 7 or 8 inches out of this storm, but in total we have a TON of residual snow from the previous storms! We have had 1 major storm each week since Christmas! It is insane!
Here are a few photos of us playing in the snow today. Daddy made the kids a tunnel and a slide out of snow:
