Fun in the sun...and water!

Yesterday we went to Boston to celebrate Grammie's birthday! Uncle Brian took us out on his boat and the kids had a BLAST! We cruised all over the outskirts of Boston in the Atlantic and we even made our way over to Nantasket Beach. We also got the opportunity to go through the "Locks" and into the Charles River.

Uncle Brian's Boat is docked at the Dorchester Yacht Club:

We went to lunch at Legal Harborside. We docked the boat right outside the restaurant...so fun! Uncle Eric was coming in from P-Town, so he took the Ferry and he met us at lunch!

We saw some great sights and the kids had so much fun! Ari LOVED the speed! We even saw 6 Jets doing sky writing saying: Mohegan Sun #Red Sox! It was so cool to watch!

It was really cool being in the "Locks". We have to bring the boat in and grab a rope on the wall. They load in as many boats as they can and then shut the back door. They then lower the water to match the Charles River water level and then they open the door.

Once through - we cruised on the Charles River for a bit. Matthew was funny - every time he saw a boat go by, he would QUACK since we kept seeing the Duck Boats and they kept quacking at us! The Charles was nice, but couldn't really go "high speed" since there are a lot of sail boats and kayak's - we'd knock them over. So we cruised a little bit, went by Harvard, turned around then headed back to the Locks. This time inside, they have to flood the locks to make the water level the same as the ocean.

From here, we went back out to the Ocean and cruised over to Nantasket Beach. The beach itself was packed, and there was even a carnival going on. At this point, Bri stopped the boat and Mom and the kids went to the back to put their feet in. They made so many splashes that they all were soaked!

After so much excitement, Arianna & Matthew fell asleep as we were going top-speed on the boat! They had such a fun time and then they both passed out when we got into the car! Such a fun day!
