I did it!

Well I did something this weekend that I never in my life thought I'd be able to do....I walked my 2nd full marathon in a year!

Six months ago - I walked the Boston Marathon as a new years resolution to myself - to become more active and take on challenges! After that, a friend of mine told me about the Jimmy Fund Marathon walk.

With the Jimmy Fund walk, you have the opportunity to walk 26.2, 13.1 or 5 miles. I challenged myself to walk 26.2 miles again...and my neighbor walked 13.1!

I received my number in the mail 2 weeks ago - and it was 3317 - to me it was a sign that I could do anything and that David and the kids would be behind me 110%. The kids birthday is 3/3 and David's is 1/17!

I almost gave up a few times - but I knew that the 3 people I was walking for tried not to give up, but cancer took their life way to soon! I walked for Leah - the little girl from my hometown who lost her fight to cancer at the age of 5, I walked for Jimmy - a firefighter from Fitchburg who lost his fight 2 weeks ago, and I walked for Dottye - my friend Brandy's mom who lost her fight last Wednesday! Every step I took, I was reminded of their life and what they fought for!

I am VERY sore today - but every ache and pain is worth it!
